One of the major components to being a general contractor is project management. Realizing this and realizing that I can, and should, always improve, I subscribe to a number of blogs, read books, and have lunch with great organizational/project managers and leaders.

One recent article suggested the simple art of ending a conversation with “do you need anything else from me?”

Having a servants heart to those above me (my wife and our customers) and for those working under me (suppliers and subcontractors) makes a huge difference. Always trying to get away with the bare minimum or slide by with exactly what is required may get the project finished faster and on budget, but it leaves everyone wondering if you take any pride in your work and if you really care about them.

We work hard to have a company culture of serving and being a blessing to, those we work with. Years later I do not want a homeowner remembering the battle it took to reframe a wall slightly so that the window is in a different location. I want them to feel at home and LOVE their new place! Likewise, I do not want the framing sub to feel like nothing is thought through and he has to spend lots of money sending his crew back out for changes.

What can I do for both parties to make their lives a little bit easier?

What can we at Highpoint do for you?
